Have you ever been
in a meeting that began with awkward silence? Or perhaps you have an
upcoming meeting with a new team and you’d like to find some way to help
bring them together? With a few “conversation starters” in your back
pocket, you can warm up a group and help build unity.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
The best part of my job last week was ____.
My favorite day of the week is ____ because ____.
If I could take any class for fun, I'd take ____.
I would never order ____ from the menu when dining with clients.
My favorite day of the week is ____ because ____.
I would like to take ____ to lunch because ____.
Before I retire, I want to accomplish ____ (from a professional
standpoint).
If I had to choose one profession, other than my current one, it would be
____.
Last week, I didn't know how to ____. Anyone have any ideas?
I'd be thrilled if I could just _____.
If I could work on any new project, what would it be?
The worst think about my week last week was _____.
The thing I like best about my job is ____.
At the High Point weekly team meeting, we often use one of these
questions to begin or end our meeting. Have fun with this list. Add more
questions of your own. And enjoy getting to know people as you use these
conversation starters.
